How to Sell Domains on DomainLiq
The complete, no-fluff seller walkthrough: add a domain, verify ownership with DNS, point your custom domain, and build a shareable bundle — all for free.
DomainLiq is a free, open platform for domain liquidation — no listing fees, no ads, just domains. This guide walks through everything a seller needs to go from zero to a verified, live, sellable listing and bundle.
Create your seller account
Sign up at domainliq.com/auth/signup. Your chosen username becomes your free store URL — e.g. https://yourname.domainliq.com. This is where all your listings, bundles, and landers live.
Add a domain
Open your Dashboard and use Add Domain. You can add:
- Single — one domain at a time.
- Bulk — paste or upload many domains at once.
- From a portfolio — pull domains you'll later group into a bundle.
Set a buy-now price (and optionally an offer threshold), then save. Your domain appears on your store and in the public catalog immediately.
Verify ownership
Verified domains earn the green shield badge, which builds buyer trust and unlocks USDC checkout. In your Dashboard, open the domain and click Verify, then pick one of two methods:
Method A — TXT Record (recommended)
Add this TXT record at your registrar's DNS:
Method B — Nameserver (fastest)
Add this as an extra nameserver (NS3) — keep your existing NS1/NS2 so your lander keeps working:
⚡ Usually verifies within minutes once the registry updates.
Click Check Now to confirm. You can re-run it any time after saving DNS changes.
Point your custom domain
Want your lander to load directly on the naked domain (e.g. yourdomain.com)? Point it at our secure proxy with an A Record:
- Auto-SSL: we issue and renew the certificate for you — no manual setup.
- Cloudflare: leave the proxy ON (orange cloud) or turn it OFF (grey cloud) — both work, grey is simpler.
- Propagation takes anywhere from minutes up to ~48 hours.
Create a bundle
Bundles (portfolios) let you group related domains into one shareable page with a single price or a curated list. In your Dashboard, open the Portfolios section and:
- Give the bundle a name (e.g. "Premium 2-letter .io").
- Optionally set a bundle price and a slug for the URL.
- Add a short description to help buyers understand the package.
- Select the domains to include.
- Toggle Public on, then create it.
Share it at https://yourname.domainliq.com/portfolio/your-slug. Buyers can browse the whole group, contact you via chat, and check availability per domain.
Note: the "Other Listings" carousel is not enabled by default, and is never auto-enabled for sellers with 10 or fewer listings.
Configure payouts & get paid
Connect a payout method so you can collect when a domain sells: Stripe Connect (cards), USDC (Polygon/Base), Wise, PayPal, or Escrow.com (for $500+).
On a sale, deliver the domain's Authorization (EPP) code within 48 hours. Funds release to you on buyer confirmation, or automatically after the escrow window. Full fee tables and payout details live in our Seller's Guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I verify that I own a domain?+
Open the domain in your Dashboard and click Verify. Add a TXT record (domainliq-verification=YOUR_TOKEN on host @) or add ns3verify.domainliq.com as an extra nameserver (NS3) alongside your existing NS1/NS2. Then click Check Now. The nameserver method usually verifies within minutes.
How long does DNS verification or pointing take?+
DNS changes propagate anywhere from a few minutes up to 48 hours depending on your registrar and TTL. The nameserver (NS3) method typically confirms fastest. You can re-run Check Now at any time.
What IP do I point my custom domain to?+
Create an A Record for @ (the root) pointing to 128.140.116.30. DomainLiq issues and renews the SSL certificate for you automatically, so your lander loads securely on the naked domain.
Does creating a bundle cost anything?+
No. Listing domains and creating public bundles is 100% free on DomainLiq. There are no listing fees and no monthly charges — you only pay platform fees when a sale closes (and several payout methods are 0% fee).
What is the 48-hour delivery rule?+
When a buyer purchases your domain via Stripe or USDC, you must provide the Authorization (EPP) code in your Dashboard within 48 hours. Missing this window entitles the buyer to a full refund.
Keep domains unlocked. Before a sale closes, remove registrar transfer locks and have your EPP code ready so you can deliver within the 48-hour window and get paid fast.
