How to safely buy domains on DomainLiq
🔒 Secure Transactions
DomainLiq supports a variety of payment methods. For maximum security, use card (Stripe), USDC (Polygon & Base), or Escrow.com checkouts where funds are held securely until the domain transfer is fully complete. Direct transfers (Wise, PayPal) bypass escrow holds and send payouts straight to the seller.

Step 1: Browse Domains
- Visit the homepage to see available domains
- Use the search bar to find specific domains
- Look for the green shield badge = verified ownership
- Check seller profiles to see all their listings
- Tip: Type a verified domain directly in your browser to see its landing page!
Step 2a: Purchase with Card (Stripe)
⚡ Instant Checkout
- Click the "Pay with Card" button on any domain
- Enter your email and payment details
- Complete the secure Stripe checkout
- You'll receive a confirmation email immediately
Step 2b: Purchase with USDC (Crypto)
🪙 Crypto Checkout
- Click the purple "Pay with USDC" button
- Enter your email address (for order confirmation)
- You'll see the escrow wallet address and exact USDC amount
- Open your crypto wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, etc.)
- Make sure you're on the Polygon or Base network
- Send the exact amount of USDC to the displayed address
- Copy and paste your transaction hash to verify payment
- You'll receive a confirmation email once verified
💡 What is USDC?
USDC is a stablecoin cryptocurrency pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. 1 USDC always equals $1. It's issued by Circle and is one of the most trusted stablecoins. You can buy USDC on any major crypto exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken) and transfer it to your wallet.
⚠️ Important: Use Polygon or Base Network
DomainLiq accepts USDC only on the Polygon or Base network (not Ethereum mainnet). Both Polygon and Base have much lower transaction fees (~$0.01 vs $5-50 on Ethereum). Make sure your wallet is set to the Polygon or Base network before sending USDC.
Step 2c: Purchase with PayPal (Direct)
⚠️ Important: PayPal is a Direct Transaction
When you pay with PayPal, DomainLiq is not involved in the transaction. This means:
- Payment goes directly to the seller's PayPal account
- You must accept the terms before proceeding
- If there's an issue, you handle disputes through PayPal
- DomainLiq cannot refund or mediate PayPal payments
- We recommend using Card or USDC when available for added security
Tip: Only use PayPal with sellers you trust. Check their verification status and track record.
Step 2d: Purchase with Wise (Direct)
💸 Wise Direct Transfer
- Click the "Pay with Wise" button on the landing page
- You will see the seller's verified **Wise transfer tag** (e.g. `@johnwise`)
- Log into your Wise account or app
- Initiate a direct transfer to the displayed tag matching the exact domain price
- Confirm you have sent the transfer to notify the seller to release the domain
*Note: Wise payments go directly to the seller. DomainLiq does not hold Wise funds in escrow.*
Step 2e: Purchase via Registrar Checkout Links
Some domains are configured to redirect to external marketplaces for purchase. When you click **"Buy Now"** or checkout buttons on these listings, you will be redirected to the registrar's official portal (GoDaddy/Afternic, Dynadot, Spaceship, or Atom) to complete a 100% secure transfer managed by that registrar.
Step 3: Receive the Domain
- The seller will be notified instantly of your purchase
- They have 48 hours to provide the Authorization Code
- You'll receive a secure email with a link to claim your domain
- The email contains the Authorization Code needed for transfer
Step 4: Transfer the Domain
- Log into your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
- Start a domain transfer using the Authorization Code
- The transfer typically takes 5-7 days to complete
- Some registrars offer instant transfers if both accounts are on the same platform
Step 5: Confirm Receipt
⚠️ Important: Confirm Within 7 Days
Once you've received the domain, click the "Confirm Receipt" button in your email. This releases the payment (card or USDC) to the seller.
Note: If you don't confirm within 7 days, funds are automatically released to the seller. Only leave unconfirmed if there's an issue with the transfer.
Refund Policy
- Seller doesn't respond in 48 hours: Full refund (card) or USDC return (crypto)
- Authorization Code doesn't work: Contact support, we'll investigate and issue a refund if the code is invalid
- You don't act within 7 days: Funds are released to seller (no refund)
Alternative: Escrow.com
For high-value domains ($500+) or if you prefer traditional escrow, look for the "Escrow" button. This redirects you to Escrow.com for a secure third-party transaction.
Red Flags to Watch For
- Seller asks for payment outside DomainLiq (direct wallet transfers, etc.)
- Asks you to send to a different address than shown in our checkout
- Can't provide proof of ownership
- Price is too good to be true
- Pressures you to act quickly
- Domain is not verified (no green shield)
Tips for Success
- Check the domain's WHOIS history
- Verify there are no trademark issues
- Prefer verified domains with the green shield
- Contact the seller with questions before buying
- Keep all communication documented
- For USDC: Double-check you're on Polygon or Base network before sending
- For USDC: Send the exact amount shown (including decimals)
